Preparing for competition

It is an important responsibility to attend competitions. You represent yourself, our club, and our University. 
Here you will find a starter list of things to do and check before a competition.

Prep

There are several steps you can complete before your upcoming competition to prepare.

  • Train

  • Get sight markings

  • ​Check your arrows

  • Check you're not missing any equipment from below

  • Get a good nights rest and prepare snacks and water

Archer Checklist

Archers must be prepared with a set of things common to all, regardless of bowstyle.

  • Bow stand

  • Quiver

  • Set of arrows (minimum 3 for indoors and minimum 6 for outdoors)

    • Check with someone whether you need to initial/number them

  • Arm guard

  • Finger tab

  • Finger sling

  • Stringer

  • Pen

  • Competition green shirt

    • No baggy clothes, NO CAMO, and no blue denim (or any denim, just in case)

  • Closed-toe shoes

  • Snacks

  • Water

Optional/borrowable on-competition-site:

  • Chest guard

  • Exercise band

  • Spare parts

  • Allen keys

  • Brace height gauge

  • Arrow puller

Note that improper clothing may result in you not being able to compete that day.
